Self-Confidence Formula (5 steps to success)

This is from the book  ‘Think and Grow Rich’  by Napoleon Hill ( published in 1937)

1. I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definite Purpose in life. Therefore I demand of myself persistent, continuous action towards it attainment, and I here and now promise to take such action.

2. I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action and gradually transform themselves into physical reality. Therefor I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intended to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear, mental picture of that person.

3. I know the principle of autosuggestion (repeating and affirming) that any desire I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object. therefore I will devote 10 minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of elf confidence.

4. I have clearly written down a description of my Chief Aim (goals) in life. I will never stop trying until I have developed sufficient self-confidence for it’s attainment.

4. I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built on truth and justice. Therefore I will engage in no transaction that does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, jealousy, envy, selfishness, and cynicism by developing love for all humanity because I know that a negative attitude towards others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me because I will believe in them and in myself. I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory and repeat it aloud once a day, with full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so that I will become a self-reliant and successful person.

Inspiring poem:

If you think you are beaten you are,
If you think you dare not you don’t,
If you like to win but you think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose you’re lost,
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a person’s will-
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you’re outclassed you are,
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the one who wins
Is the one WHO THINKS HE CAN!

Excerpt from Marainne Wlliamsons book “A Return To Love”.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves,”Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others  won’t feel insecure around you. We are meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us: it’s in everyone.  And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same .  As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

That pretty much says it all.  I hope it serves you as it is serving me.

Blessings.

Lack Of Decision by Bob Proctor

This was sent to me a few days ago. I thought it was worth posting.

The greatest stumbling block to achieving anything of importance in your life is circumstances. We let circumstances get us off the hook when we should be giving it everything we’ve got. More dreams are shattered and goals lost because of circumstances than any other single factor. Continue reading

Martial Arts - Good for the Mind, Soul and Body

Ever since I was very young and first learned about martial arts, I’ve had the vision of becoming a black belt in some martial art. Well 2 years ago that vision began it’s first steps. My son who has been taking Tae Kwon Do for almost 4 years now, convinced me it was time to follow my dream. We made a deal. . . if he earned his green belt then I would join the club.

Work Less, Fly Fish More Often.

I absolutely love fly fishing!

To me, there is no better way to clear  my mind and rejuvenate my body than spending time out on my favorite river or stream with nothing but my waders, my fly rod,  the sunshine and the day ahead of me. Aside from being a dad, fly fishing is responsible for some of my most pleasurable moments. Continue reading
