Martial Arts - Good for the Mind, Soul and Body
Ever since I was very young and first learned about martial arts, I’ve had the vision of becoming a black belt in some martial art. Well 2 years ago that vision began it’s first steps. My son who has been taking Tae Kwon Do for almost 4 years now, convinced me it was time to follow my dream. We made a deal. . . if he earned his green belt then I would join the club.
Well tonight, after 2 years, I’m celebrating my promotion to my Green belt in Tae Kwon Do. I’m one quarter of the way to Black. The Green belt is also significant for me because it’s where my son was when I started.
If anyone is considering taking a martial with family I highly recommend Tae Kwon Do. They have strong family values and are community supporters. The workouts are great but they also stress the importance of family, respect for others, self respect, self control and discipline.
It doesn’t matter if you a large or small, male or female, younger or older, what you do for a living or who you are outside of the club. Once inside the Dojang, (studio) everyone is considered equal.
Tae Kwon Do is great for physical training and improving your health in the Mind and the Soul as well as the Body. It’s a great family sport!

Cool! Congrats on the Green Belt, sometimes our children are a perfect catalyst to do what we should!
